My name is Christina and I am a computer engineering student.
I haven’t always been an engineering major, but science has been something that I’ve loved from a young age. When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming an astronaut; I’d stare up at the night sky wondering what it would be like to float among the stars. Of course, I had another dream that I started chasing after as a teenager: music. I started college as a music industry major. It wasn’t until 2014 that I realized it wasn’t what I wanted to do with my life. After much thought, I walked into the academic advising office and applied to switch majors from music to astrophysics. The counselor greeted my decision with a strange look and the words, “You sure? That’s a pretty big one-eighty.” I replied with a yes. Next semester, I walked into that same office and changed my major for a third and final time from astrophysics to engineering. After this bachelor’s degree, I plan on pursuing a master’s degree sometime in the future. My end goal would be to work for companies like NASA, SpaceX, Intel, Nvidia, or other major aerospace/computer hardware manufacturers.
Outside of school, I have many hobbies. Some of these hobbies include listening to and making music, playing video games, programming, reading, traveling, photography, and playing board games.
I understand that the road ahead of me is long and difficult, but I know that I have the work ethic and ambition to walk it.
